Respectable performance last start from Tezlah when stepping up significantly in grade. He’ll contest the rich Ballarat VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade , run over 1400m for the 3yo’s. His track work on Tuesday morning was first rate. He stopped the clock over 800m in 48.25 and 23.76 last 400m. Looks to have the class to figure prominently here, fitness wise, can’t fault him. Try him on both totes.

Mactier represents the Mick price stable. There was specking for him at odds last start in the Carbine Club Stakes. He worked on Tuesday over 1000m in 1.12.42 and 25.38 last 400m.

Love Days should be spot on here, 3rd up in the Miranda Mares BM78, run over 1200m. Excellent run last start at Geelong when beaten 1.35L behind the in form Deja Blue. Drawn well and has the services of B Melham. Tuesday morning she worked brilliantly over 800m, clocking 49.88 and 24.53 last 400m. Looks a treat and this assignment looks well within her grasp.

Huge drop in class for the Robert Smerdon trained Cedar Grande, who’ll face the starter in the No Fuss Event Hire BM78 Hcp, run over 2300m. Recent runs have been excellent and she far from disgraced herself in the Matriarch Stakes, when beaten 8.6L behind Savapinski. Has the miles in her legs and appeals with only 53.5kg on her back after the claim. Tuesday morning’s gallop over 1200m topped her off nicely for this. She went through her paces in 1.22.10 and 24.01 last 400m split. Each way.

Last start winner Star Fortune worked solidly with his barn mate Love Days on Tuesday morning, in the lead up to the Maxitrans BM84, run over 1400m. On pacer who has drawn well, is rock hard fit and racing in great heart. Value for each way punters and one for the exotics.

Orient Line went 1000m in 1.09.75 and 24.60 last 400m.

The Robert Smerdon trained Grand Dreamer is racing his way back to form and looks well placed in the Sportsbet Ballarat Cup, a race I’m sure his trainer would have had pencilled in months ago as his main aim. Wasn’t asked to do a lot on the training track during the week. He worked over 1600m in even time, with his head on the chest. Not a vintage field, he rates as some sort of hope to weigh in here.

Big drop in weight for Falcool, who scored with 61.5kg first up at Hamilton. Drops down to 54kg here in the Ballarat Tonks Plate. 1200m. Trained on beautifully since and his work on Tuesday morning indicates he’s come back better than ever and should give punters a run for their money. Clocked over 800m in 52.20 and a slick 23.47 last 400m split.

Looks a perfect race on paper for the progressive 3yo daughter of Fastnet Rock, Palazzo Vecchio, Friday night in the Sawdust And Shavings MB64, 1600m. trained on nicely since breaking her maiden 2nd up. Tuesday morning she worked over  1200m in evens and 24.43 last 400m, on the bit. Should run well again.

Freshen up and huge drop in class Friday night for Heavenly Descent, in the Procon Developments BM78, 1400m. Nice work Tuesday without being pushed aty any stage. Strode over 1000m in 1.07.21 and 12.82 last 400m. Can easily measure up here against this lot.

Both Price horses should be thereabouts in Sensis Digital Trophy, run over 1400m last day of the Flemington Carnival. Duke Of Brunswick worked over 1000m in 1.05.10, last 400m in 25.13. Bassett went 1000m in 1.06.18 and 24.29 last 400m. Hard to split them, slight fitness edge to Bassett over his barn mate.

Orient Line worked home his last 800m in 51.97 and 24.27 last 400m split.

The John Moloney trained Flying Jess will represent good value in the Matriarch Stakes, Group 2, run over 2000m. Worked ¾ pace Tuesday morning on the “A Sand” track. Topping her off beautifully for this. High class mare on her day and if things go her way, she’ll be steaming home late.

Huge class rise for Cedar Grande. She worked 1000m in 1.05 and 23.90 last 400m.

The Andrew Noblet trained Super Cash will have her work cut out for her in the Darley Classic Group 1 Sprint, 1200m. Can’t fault her performances this time in. She’s as fit as a fiddle and holding her condition very well at Caulfield. Galloped on Saturday morning over 1000m, home last 400m a tick on 25.0. Could sneak into the placings at odds.

The Robert Smerdon trained Tezlah is going through his grades nicely and this’ll be his 4th run in his initial prep in the Emirates Airline Hcp.  On the 7 day back up, has the miles in his legs and winning form is good form. Try him on both totes as he should be at an each way quote.
